Assistant Principal, Mr. Schmueser

Mr. John Schmueser has been an educator for thirty-one years. He has been a primary teacher for seventeen years and an assistant principal for fourteen years. This is his third year at David Youree Elementary School. He is proud to be here to share in 30 years of traditions at a school that continues to "Soar Like an Eagle." Mr.Schmueser graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers at Vanderbilt in 1977 with a B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education. In 1978 he received a M.S. in Early Childhood Education from Peabody. He taught first grade for seven years in Atlanta. From 1985-94 he taught first and second grade at Homer Pittard Campus School, the lab school for the teacher education program at M.T.S.U. In 1991 he completed his Ed.S. in administration and supervision from M.T.S.U.
